A realtor located in Washington referred us to Shawn in case we decided to buy in Oregon. Even though we hadn’t yet moved to town and hadn’t narrowed our search to a particular area, Shawn agreed to speak with us over video conference. Finding a home that I like, making sure it has future resale value, and getting it at right price all together is not easy. Buying one for the first time, I had no idea how I was going do the second and third part myself.
Shawn was respectful and easy to work with throughout the whole process. In addition to being truly professional in getting things done, he was always willing to work extra for whatever was reasonable.
Nicest thing about him is that he wants his client to be happy in the long term. He will tell you when the things don’t meet his standard, even if it means more work for him. He made sure that I was paying reasonably and treated fairly by all other parties. As a result, not only did we manage to avoid a multiple offer situation, but we also earned some good seller’s credit as well as a home warranty, in such a strong seller’s market.
I had an out of state online lender. While things were mostly smooth, they didn’t work for almost a week and then tried to finish the closing document in the last minute. As they were causing lots of unnecessary noise and making every other nervous about whether closing will happen on time, Shawn stepped in and appropriately sorted out the situation.

We recently moved to Oregon from Massachusetts. When my wife arrived in Portland to begin the home search, she interviewed three referred realtors. She opted to go with Shawn as she found him to be the most knowledgeable and well-spoken. We worked with Shawn and his team for two and a half months. During that time, we sold our house on the east coast, moved across the country and made offers on three houses in the Portland area. We retracted the first two offers after inspections uncovered expensive problems we would rather not deal with, then successfully concluded the third transaction.
Four things struck me as we worked with Shawn. First, he is a very good communicator. He kept us up to date and was always certain that we understood our options and the rationale behind his recommendations.
Second, Shawn has a keen sense of the market. He reminded us several times between September and October that the market was shifting from a seller’s to a buyers’ market and what had been the case a few weeks ago may no longer be true.
Third, Shawn was working in our best interests at all times. We wanted to get into a new house quickly so were more interested in getting an offer accepted than it being the lowest possible offer. He could easily have run with our higher offer proposals, but knew it wasn’t the best deal for us long-term and convinced us to go lower.
Fourth, and certainly not least, was his support team, especially Bo. We had little time to research and contact inspectors for each home, so it was a great relief when his team offered to provide a list of recommended inspectors and then coordinated appointments with all of the parties. Being new to the city and state, we really appreciated the information and experience his team provided.
We would enthusiastically recommend Shawn and his team to anyone looking for a realtor.
